Solution

Dear student

Factors on which acceleration due to gravity depends are:-
  • Height- acceleration due to gravity (g) decreases as one moves away from the surface of the earth.
  • Depth - g decreases with increase in depth.
  • Latitudes- value of g is maximum at the poles and minimum at the equator.

Given,
Mass of moon= 7.4×1022
Radius of moon= 1.74×106
g=GMR2where, G = Gravitational constant ( 6.7×10-11 ) M= mass R= Radius

g= 6.7×10-11 × 7.4× 1022 (1.74×106 )2

= 1.62 m/s2
Weight = m×g
600 = m × 9.8
m= 600/ 9.8
= 61.22

Weight on surface of moon = 61.22 × 1.62
= 99.17 N
