Solution

If two angles form a linear pair, then the sum of the degree measures of the angle is $180^{\circ}$ .

Let $x =$ measure of the smaller angle

Then $2 x =$ measure of the other angle.

So, $x + 2 x = 180^{o}$

$3 x = 180^{o}$

$x = \frac{180}{3}$

$∴ x = 60^{\circ}$

The measures of angles are $60^{\circ}$ and $120^{\circ}$ .
