Solution

Initial temperature = -3°C
Final temperature = 4°C
Temperature change = 4°C - (-3°C)
= 7°C
The temperature is risen by 7°C.

Then, the temperature fell by 8°C.
Initial temperature = 4°C
Final temperature = 4°C - 8° C
= -4°C
So, -4°C was the temperature at the end of afternoon.
