Given, that Garima travels 16 km with 4 litres of petrol. Let she requires x litres of petrol to travel 36 km.

As the distance increases the petrol required also gets increased.

36 x

16×x = 36×4 ( by cross multiplication)

x = 36×416 liters

x = 9 liters
