Let the one number is $=x$ and the second number is $=y$

$\Rightarrow$ According to the conditions

$\frac{x}{5}=\frac{5}{8}y$ ……….$\left(1\right)$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{25}{8}y$

$x+35=4y$ ……….$\left(2\right)$

from statement $\left(1\right)$

$x=\frac{25}{8}y$

$\Rightarrow \frac{25}{8}y+35=4y$

$\Rightarrow 35=\frac{32y}{8}-\frac{25y}{8}$

$\Rightarrow 35=\frac{7y}{8}$

$\Rightarrow y=\frac{35\times 8}{7}=40$

$\Rightarrow y=40$

$\Rightarrow$ Second number is $=40$.
