Solution

The first recipe requires 1/2 cup of sugar.
the 2nd recipe requires 2 tablespoon of sugar

According to question
1 tablespoon =1/16 cup
therefore, 2 tablespoons =2*(1/16)=1/8 cup
hence, more amount of sugar the 1st cup requires= (1/2) - (1/8) cup
= 3/8 cup
