Solution

The correct option is B 0.685
NiVi=N1V1+(n×M)V2
Where Ni,Vi are initial normality & volume of HCl solution N1,V1 are the normality & volume of solution when it is reduced to 600m
n×MNormality of 3.25g HCl lost (n=1)
V2400ml
M=3.25/36.50.4
N2×1000=N1×600+3.25/36.50.4×400
N1=0.685N
