Solution

The correct option is C Reserve food matter in form of polysaccharides
A common feature between algae and fungi is that both have polysaccharides as reserve food material. Fungi store food in the form of glycogen and algae store food in the form of starch (green algae), Floridean starch (red algae) or laminarin (brown algae).
In fungi mode of nutrition is heterotrophic, whereas in algae, it is autotrophic. Parenchymatous thallus is present in algae only. Unlike many organisms that produce embryos to reproduce, the fungi produce spores which germinate into new organisms.
Hence, option c is th correct answer.
