One of the following wavelengths is absent and the rest are present in the X-rays coming from a Coolidge tube. Which one is the absent wavelength?
25 pm
If all the wavelengths except one are present then it has to be the lowest wavelength i.e. 25 pm
If 50 pm is present then all the wavelengths above it (i.e. 75 pm and 100 pm) have to be present.
It's evident that all the wavelengths above the cutoff will be observed whereas nothing below it could be produced.
