The correct option is D 1,2,4
Let α,2α,β be the roots of x35x2+2x+8=0 (As one root is double of other)
Therefore, S1=α+2α+β=53α+β=5 ...(1)
S2=α(2α)+α(β)+2α(β)=22α2+3αβ=2α(2α+3β)=2 ...(2)
S3=α(2α)(β)=82α2β=8α2β=4 ...(3)
Dividing (2) by (3), we get
2α+3βαβ=24
4α3β=2αβ ...(4)
Now solving (1) and (4), we get
α=2 and β=1
Hence roots are 1,2,4.
