Question

One side of a parallelogram is 4.8cm and the other side is 32 times the first side, find the perimeter of the parallelogram.

Open in App
Solution

Let ABCD be a parallelogram in which AB = 4.8 cm and BC = 32 × AB.
Then, we have:
BC = 32 × 4.8 cm = 7.2 cm

We know that opposite sides of a parallelogram are congruent.
AD = BC = 7.2 cm and CD = AB = 4.8 cm
Now,
Perimeter of parallelogram ABCD = AB + BC + CD + DA
= 4.8 + 7.2 + 4.8 + 7.2
= 24 cm
