Since in a triangle, the sum of two sides will be greater than the third side, we have
$x+x+2>8$
$=>2x+2>8$
$=>2x>6$
$=>x>3$
Hence the two unknown sides will be greater than $3$ as they are $x,x+2$
Also $8>3$
Hence, all the three sides of the triangle $>3cm$
