Let Aruns's marks in Mathematics be $x$ and marks in English be $y$.

Total marks in both the subject = $240$

$\therefore$ $x+y=240$= $2x+2y=480$.....(1)

$\frac{x}{3}-\frac{y}{2}=30$

$=2x-3y=180$ =....(2)

Subtracting equation (1) from equation (2) we get

$-5y=-300$

$y=60$

$\therefore$ He scored $60$ marks in English
