Question

Onion and turnip is a modification of which plant part-root or leaf base?

Open in App
Solution

An onion is a bulb (a short stem with fleshy leaves or leaf bases).

The bulb of the onion contains both a modified stem, in the center, but most of what we eat are layers that are modified underground leaves.

The turnip or white turnip is a root vegetable commonly grown in temperate climates

Hope this will help you :)
