Oral Rehydration Solution is given during diarrhoea. It contains sodium chloride, glucose, potassium chloride, etc.
During diarrhoea, there is a loss of water, glucose and electrolyte. Hence, due to this reason anti-diuretic hormone or vasopressin is released to reduce water loss.
When ORS is given, it recovers the electrolyte loss which inturn stops the activation of renin-angiotensin pathway and also inhibits vasopressin.
