Osmosis occurs from lower osmotic pressure solution to higher osmotic pressure solution. The direction of the flow of the solvent molecules is from the solution of lower concentration to the solution of higher concentration. This results in the dilution of more concentrated solution. The process continues until the concentration in two solutions become equal.
