The organs which have a common origin ( same ancestry) and same basic structure but perform different functions are called homologous organs.
They all have similar ancestral origins and structures but different functions.
An example of this is the wings of bats and birds.
These structures are homologous in that they are the modifications of the forelimb bone structure of early reptiles but their functions are slightly different.
For birds it also functions as body covering and for bats, it also functions as shock absorbers.
Hence, the wings of a bird and the wings of a bat are examples of homologous organs.
