Cholera is caused by the bacterium Vibrio cholerae.
Typhoid is caused by the bacterium Salmonella typhi.
They are water borne diseases as they are spread by the fecal contamination of drinking water. This condition results when the sewage water gets mixed with the drinking water when the water pipes are ruptured due to heavy rainfall.
