A citizen has many responsibilities regarding sanitation.

Among other things, an active citizen should do the following things to maintain proper sanitation:

• Ensure that his/her surroundings (both inside and outside the home) are clean.
• Ensure that the sewerage system in his/her house is properly managed.
• If any leakage or other problems are noticed in the sewerage systems, then they should be reported to the municipality.
