Given,

Over a period of 55 days, the probability of at least 1 green coloured dress being sold is 40%.


Since, the data contains 5 numbers (1, 2, 3, 4 & 5), 40% of 5 numbers represents 2 numbers. Let the 2 numbers be 1 and 2.

The numbers have to appear in any one trial for at least 4 times or more as we have to find the probability of finding the sales in 4 days.

From the data given, we can see that Trial 1, Trial 2, Trail 3 and Trial 5 have at least 4 combined 1s and 2s.

So, total number of favorable outcomes is 4.

P(atleast one of the green colored dress is sold in next 4 days out of next 11 days)=Number of favorable outcomesTotal number of outcomes

=45

=45×100

=80%
