Open in App
Solution

Goiter is the enlargement of Thyroid gland due to over secretion of thyroxin i.e. hyperthyroidism or thyrotoxicosis. High levels of thyroxin are secreted in response to low iodine levels in the body. This also causes protrusion of eyeballs due to deposition of excess fat and fibrous tissue behind the eyes and this condition is called exophthalmos.
Hence, over secretion of thyroxin causes exophthalmic goiter.
So, the correct answer is 'Exopthalmic'.
