Solution

The correct option is D FSH and LH
During the preovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle, there is an increase in the level of LH and FSH hormone. These hormones are released from the anterior lobe of the pituitary and control the menstrual cycle. On around 14th day there is a sudden increase in the level of the LH hormone that causes the LH surge and the ovulation i.e the release of the oocyte from the ovary.
Progesterone helps in maintaining the lining of the endometrium thus essential in pregnancy. Oestrogen is responsible for the development of secondary sexual characters and keeps a check on FSH and LH levels.
So, the correct option 'FSH and LH'.
