Ovulation occurs on 14th day of menstrual cycle and the lifespan of egg is 2-3 days Bt unfertilised egg sheds in the menstruation phase (1-5 days). How is it possible. Mns doesn't it degenerate after 2 -3 days of ovulation?

Dear Student, One ovum is released during the middle of each menstrual cycle and other hormone changes prepare the uterus for pregnancy. If, ovulation takes place and fertilization does not take place,the lining of the uterus sheds away. This is menstrual cycle. In case of, males the sperm wait in testicles for some time and eventually die and reabsorbed by the body. Regards
