As Mass = ρV where ρ is the density of a material while V be the volume of it.

Given:

ρ = 0.52g/cm3 = [(0.52 × 100 × 100 × 100)/1000] kg/m3 = 520 kg/m3

V = 2 m3

Mass = ρV=(520)(2)=1040kg

2)Mass of copper, M = 106g

Volume water in measuring cylinder V= 22ml

Volume water in measuring cylinder containing copper block, V' = 34ml

(a) Volume of copper piece = V' -V = 34-22 = 12 ml =12cm3

(b) Density of copper = M/(V-V') = 106/12 = 8.33g/cm3

(c) Relative density of copper = Density of copper/(Density of water) = 8.33/1 =8.33

3)volume of iron cylinder =Ï€r2h=Ï€(1.4)2(8)=49.26cm3

mass of iron cylinder=369.6g

density of iron=(mass of iron cylinder)/(volume of iron cylinder)=369.6/49.26=7.5g/cm3
