Solution

1. Animals in subphylum vertebrate are further classified according to their reproductive system, skeletal system and environmental adaptations. There are 7 classes of vertebrates: Agnatha, Chondrichthyes, Osteichthyes, Amphibia , Reptilia, Aves, Mammalia. The first three classes are jawless fishes, cartilaginous fishes and bony fishes respectively which evolved first followed by amphibians which could survive on both land and water followed by reptiles. Some reptiles evolved into hairy mammals which gave birth to young ones rather than laying eggs.

2. The binomial nomenclature is given below:

Tiger: Panthera tigris

Lion: Panthera leo

Frog: Rana temporaria

Shark: Carcharodon carcharias

Tiger and lion belong to the same genus Panthera which consists of big cats. All the four animals are vertebrates. Tiger, lion and shark belongs to the class mammalia whereas frog is an amphibian.
