Solution

1) Acids are substances that release H+ ions in aqueous solutions eailsy.More easily a compound releases H+ ions, more acidic it is.Glucose and alcohols donot release H+ ions in aqueous solutions easily. Therefore, they are not acids.

2) Stainless steel is an alloy of iron, carbon, nickel and chromium. Nickel and chromium form oxides that form a thin film around the stainless steel vessel. This thin film does not dissolve in water and doesnot come off when scrubbed. Because of this, once a thin layer of oxide has covered the vessel, the rest of the material will be cut off from the air. It will therefore never rust, and remain as strong as ever.
