Question

1 kg cotton and 1kg iron which is heavier

Open in App
Solution

1 kg mass means that 1kg of matter is contained in the body. The weight of a body is equal to the magnitude of the gravitational force.

For a mass of 1 kg

weight = mg = (1 x 9.8)N = 9.8 N

As the gravitational force is same, both will be equally heavy.
