1) Modern farming methods require the farmers to set up tube wells for irrigation, and make use of HYV seeds, chemical fertilizers and pesticides in farming, farm machinery like tractors and threshers, which make ploughing and harvesting faster. At present some of the modern methods of farming include:

• organic farming
• precision farming
• nutrient film technique

2) Disadvantages of Green Revolution :

• Poor farmers could not afford HYV seeds, fertilizers and machinery.
• Some borrowed and ended up with large debts
• HYV seeds need more water and fertilizer, which is expensive
• New machinery replaced manual labour leading to unemployment and rural-urban migration
• The Green Revolution was limited to rice and wheat only.
