2 reasons to justify that water is liquid at the room temperature
Water is liquid at the room temperature just because of the hydrogen bonding. Because of the presence of the electronegative atom oxygen in the water it is capable of forming hydrogen bond with the other molecule of the water and hence can exists in the associated form resulting in a liquid state.
Following are the properties of water which justify that it is a liquid at room temperature :
1) It has a definite volume but not a definite shape. It takes the shape of the container in which it is placed.
2) It is not rigid and can flow. This is due to lesser intermolecular forces of attraction between its molecules as compared to solids.
