pH is defined as the negative log of hydrogen ion concentration of a solution and can be calculated from the following expression

pH = -log[H+]

Thus, more is the H+ ion concentration, lower is the pH and stronger is the acid. Conversely, lesser is the H+ ion concentration, more is the pH and weaker is the acid. The pH of acids is less than 7, while that of bases is more than 7. We are given three solutions, A, B and C. As the pH of A and B is less than 7 hence they are acidic in nature. On the other hand, the pH of C is more than 7, hence it is basic in nature.

Since the pH of A is the least, hence its is most acidic. B is less acidic than A and C is basic or least acidic of the three. So, the three solutions in the increasing order of their acidic strength can be arranged as follows

C < B < A
