Let the required number = x
It is given that,
5 subtracted from 6 times a number is same as 1 added to 4 times the number
then according to question :
6x - 5 = 4x + 1
$\Rightarrow 6 x - 4 x = 1 + 5 \Rightarrow 2 x = 6 \Rightarrow x = 3 Hence the required number is 3 .$
