A atom with a mass no and atomic no of 108 and 50 disintegrates to form an atom having mass no and atomic no of 106 and 20 respectively. What is the no of electrons, protons and neutrons present in the new atom?

Part - I
Number of protons and electrons in an atom is equal to the atomic number of the atom.
No. of neutrons = Atomic mass number - Atomic number of the atom.
Thus, Number of protons and electrons = 50
No. of neutrons = 108 − 50 = 58 Answer

Number of protons and electrons in second case = 20
No. of neutrons = 106 − 20 = 86 Answer
The new atom contain 20 electron and proton and 86 proton
