Question

a body is at rest i.e. my force upon it is 0N . Then the magnitude of frictional force upon it?

Open in App
Solution

The frictional force on a body would be

F = μN

here N is the normal force = weight of the object (if it is horizontal)

so,

F = μmg

so, magnitude of frictional force depends upon mass of the body (m) and coefficient of static friction (μ).
