Question

A body is moved along a straight line by a machine delivering constant power. The distance moved by the body in time " t " is proportional to ?

Open in App
Solution

As the body is all moving in a straight line with machine delivering constant power then, work done (W) by the body is = Force ∙ Distance,as dW/dt = Constant
Therefore, d/dt(F.s) = Constant F. ds = Constant dtDo the integration from both the side, then, ∫ F. ds = Constant ∫ dt
On solving the above equation we get, Distance "s" = t const/F.
From this relation we can just see the relation of distance with the rest of the terms
