A body of weight 20N floats half submerged in a liquid.What is the buoyant force on the body?

Solution

According to the Archemedes principle , weight of the liquid displaced by the body is equal to buoyant force.
As liquid is half immersed in the body , So weight of the liquid displaced by the body = 20/2 N = 10 N = buoyant force
