Since the distance of the image formed from the mirror will be equal to the distance of the object from the mirror . So initially the image will be formed at a distance of 5 m ,

When the boy moves a distance of 2 m towards the mirror then his image will also move 2 m towards the mirror.

so finally the distance between the boy and his image will be 3 + 3 m = 6m.
