Question

a bulb cannot be used in the place of resistor to verify ohms law . verify your statement with reason

Open in App
Solution

The current flowing through the bulb causes the temperature and therefore the resistance of its tungsten filament to change during the experiment.
We know that one of the essential condition of Ohm's law is that a changing temperature must not allowed to affect the resistance of the load.It means in this case of using bulb in place of resistor the ratio of voltage to current varies continuously throughout the experiment. Therefore tungsten(hence bulb) does not verify ohm's law.
