Smoking kills the cilia lining of the nose which builds mucus, germs and dust particles in the nose.This clogs the air passageways. Smoking also adds toxins and other substances into the respiratory system.The increase in the mucus, thickens the lining of bronchioles making it difficult to breath. This affects the respiratory rate of the chain smoker.
