A Convex lens is covered vertically half with black paper. An object is kept in front of the mirror. Can the image of the object be formed? If an image is formed, then what is the nature of the image

Solution

The image formed by a convex lens will not be affected if the upper half of the lens is wrapped with a black paper because each part of the lens forms an image , only the brightness and intensity of the image will be affected.

Intensity is directly proportional to the area of the aperture of the lens receiving the light.

Intensity reduces to half.
