Solution

Copper is more reactive than silver, so it will displace silver from silver nitrate solution. The reaction is as follows:

Cu (s) + 2AgNO3 (aq) → Cu(NO3 )2 (aq) + 2Ag (s)

The colourless solution of silver nitrate will turn blue due to formation of copper nitrate and silver metal will deposit on the copper coin.
