a crowbar of length 100cm is used to lift a load of 10 kgf . it has a fulcrum at a distamce of 20cm from the load. calculate the M.A of the crowbar and the effort applied at the other end ?

given, L = 100 cm
effort arm, d1 = 100- 20 = 80 cm
load arm, d2 = 20 cm
1.Mechanical advantage , M.A. = effort armload arm = 8020 = 4
2.effort applied is given by the formula :
effort = load/ M.A. = 10 kgf/4 = 2.5 kgf
