Solution

a) Pasturage for bees is the flowering plants that are present near a beekeeping site. The flowers of the plants provide nectar and pollen grain to the bees. The nectar collected by the bees from the flowers is essential for the production of honey. Bees usually feed on different types of plants, so the quality and quantity of the honey produced depends on the pasturage. All flowers do not produce a similar type of nectar. So, there a variation in the taste and colour of the honey produced. If there are more number of flowers near the bee keeping site more amount of honey will be produced.

b) Italian bees are considered important for commercial honey production because
1 They are sting less.
2 They stay in the beehive for a long time.
3 They have more honey collecting capacity.
