Copper spoon had a coating of silver because of the reaction between copper and silver nitrate solution. During the reaction is displaced by silver and the copper spoon gets a coating of silver metal:
Cu + 2AgNO₃ â†’ 2Ag + Cu(NO₃)₂
No such reaction takes place between silver and gold as gold is unreactive and resistant to reactions.
