A gun of mass 4.5 kg, fires a bullet of mass 20 g with a velocity of 108 km/hr. calculate the velocity of the gun in SI system.

Mass of gun, M=4.5 kg
Mass of bullet, m= 20 g=0.020 kg
Velocity of bullet, v=108 km/h=30 m/s
(Since, 1 km=1000 m and 1 hour=60 minutes=60 x 60 seconds)
Using,
Mass of bullet x Velocity of bullet=Mass of gun x Recoil velocity of gun
0.020 x 30=4.5 x V
Recoil velocity of gun, V=0.133 m/s
