Question

a leafy shoot is placed in a beaker containing a solution of a coloured dye. which part of the shoot is most coloured by the dye after 2 days?

Solution

Dear Student!

The shoot would start taking the coloured water because of suction induced by transpiration. The amount of water lost by transpiration would be compensated by the water in the beaker and the stem at the base would be coloured the most as it would receive the maximum amount of dye as the coloured water would pass from this part to the other parts of the plant.
