A metal compound 'x' react with dilute hcl to produce efferesence the gas evolved extinguish burning candle . if the one of the compounds formed is a calcium chloride . then identify 'x' and the gas evolved . also write balanced chemical equation.

The compound X must be CaCO3 which on reaction with HCL produces, Carbon dioxide gas in the form of effervescence which extinguishes candle flame as:

CaCO3 + 2HCl --> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2
