Î”T=578-28=550 ^oC
Using Î”L = Î±LÎ”T
Coefficient of linear expansion,Î±=Î”L / LÎ”T= 0.15/ (5 x 550)=0.0000545 â°C^-1

the relation between the coefficients of linear (Î±_l) and superficial expansion (Î±_a) is
