a) Ozone layer depeletion is caused by bromine chemicals, carbon dioxide, halons, carbon tetrachloride and mainly hydroflurocarbons.
b) The depletion of ozone layer will result in the harmful UV rays of sun to reach earth.
This causes
(i) The UV radiations cause skin darkening, skin cancer, ageing and corneal cataracts.
(ii) Reduction in plant growth and decrease in productivity of crops.
(iii) Increase in global warming.
