A player kicks a ball of mass 250g at the centre of a field . The ball leaves him with a speed of 10m/s. Find the work done on the player by the ball.

The work done by the player in kicking the ball will be equal to the KE imparted by the boy to the ball,

KE = (1/2)mv2

=1/2 x 0.250 x 100=12.5 J

Now, ball gives a reaction force –F on the player and the work done by the ball depends on the motion of player due to kicking the ball.
