A POSITIVELY CHARGED PARTICLE PROJECTED TOWARDS WEST IS DEFLECTED TOWARDS NORTH BY A MAGNETIC FIELD. WHAT IS THE DIRECTION OF THE MAGNETIC FIELD.

Dear student!

According to Fleming's left thumb rule, if we adjust our center finger, for fingers and thumb of left hand at right angles then, we adjust them so as if, center finger points towards west, thumb points towards north then fore fingers will point towards upward direction.

So, if we follow the rules here, then as the particles flow in west, current will be in west and as the deflection is towards north so the force will work towards north, so the magnetic field will be according to the fore fingers and will be in upward direction.
